Steve Williamson is a 27 year Air Force veteran, 24 of the 27 in all phases of the Security Forces career field. The last 3 of the 27 he served as the Command Chief Master Sergeant (Inaugural) at US Strategic Command, Offutt AFB. He represented/mentored/guided roughly 5,500 enlisted members from the Air Force, Navy and Army. Following retirement in 1998, he started his own small business and was a general/remodeling contractor, self employed. He sold the business in 2000 when he became the security and facilities maintenance manager at Henry Doorly Zoo. An opportunity arose in 2016 to join the University of Nebraska in public safety managing the ID and card access segment at UNMC. A year later, UNMC and UNO Public Safety departments joined forces to become the University of Nebraska Police and Public Safety Department and he became the Director of the Support Services Division. In that capacity, he directs all Photo ID operations for roughly 26k staff/students/faculty, card access programming/installation/monitoring of the Lenel OnGuard system, all Milestone XProtect security camera installations/programming/monitoring, and direct all key and door hardware installations and key access. His division serves UNO, UNMC, Nebraska Medicine and Clarkson College. He was a 23-year Cobalt Credit Union volunteer, Supervisory Committee Chair, Board Director and eventually Chairman. He is also on my 4th term as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for SID 514, Harrison Park West, an elected position.
